The Efendi Hotel is a special architectural gem, located in the heart of Old Acre's picturesque alleys, overlooking the city's impressive walls and the blue sea. This boutique hotel is a surprising combination of meticulously preserved and reconstructed history and pampering prestige. The Efendi Hotel is a dream come true for Uri Jeremias of the famous Uri Buri restaurant, who with unending love and with the help of experts has managed to preserve this 19th century site's uniqueness after many years of neglect. Preservation experts were brought here in order to treat the old frescos and especially that of the city of Istanbul which was created originally in honor of the opening of a new Orient Express train station.
The hotel's 13 rooms were all decorated differently and uniquely to the highest and uncompromising standards. Some of the rooms feature ceiling paintings and others preserved and reconstructed wooden ceilings and all offer an intimate and romantic atmosphere. The windows that are covered in long white curtains let in a pleasant soft light during the day. The rooms' delicate décor and even a dip in the freestanding bathtub give a sense of European nobility. The Efendi Hotel includes a wine bar that is located inside the cool cellar between reconstructed original arches that are almost one thousand years old. Next to quality local and International wines you can enjoy excellent tapas and appetizers. The main dining room contains a huge table that seems to be taken directly out of knights' halls. The Efendi Hotel also offers an old Turkish bath, where the guests can enjoy a traditional body peeling and massage treatment or various massages that are given by experienced and courteous masseurs. The hotel's roof offers a wonderful full panoramic view of Old Acre and even beyond. The gourmet restaurant, Uri Buri, is located only five minutes away.
