The Petah Tikva Zoo (Gan Hai) is not a huge zoo but whoever comes here is surprised by its impressive size and the environmental attention that goes into this charming place, such as in its lake which is alive with flamingos and swans and in its animals’ corner which hosts various farm animals. Everything is very pleasant, enjoyable and welcoming at the Petah Tikva Zoo. A large part of the Petah Tikva Zoo is dedicated to birds, which include many species of parrots from all around the world. Another attraction at the Petah Tikva Zoo is the great monkey cage, in which the visitors walk on top of a bridge which is covered on all sides, while the various monkeys surround it. This gives one the feeling of a cage within a cage, creating a direct experience. The Petah Tikva Zoo also includes a small reptiles’ room and a surprising stuffed animals collection which presents bears, lions, monkeys, birds, reptiles penguins, fish, many butterflies and other animals brought here from all around the world.
