In the Banias Nature Reserve there is the Banias Spring, which emerges at the foot of Mount Hermon, from where its water flows powerfully through a canyon for 3.5 km. On its way the formed river creates the strong and impressive Banias Waterfall. Near the spring there is a wide stepped path which climbs up to a cave, in which sacrifices were made in the past. Nearby, there are the remnants of a temple complex dedicated to the god Pan. At the front of the cave there are the remains of a temple built by King Herod. Above the river there is a wooden path with bridges that are covered with thick vegetation. Near the path one can find the Matroof water-powered flour mill and the fascinating remains of Crusader Banias- Crusader fortifications, towers, walls, citadel and an elaborate gate house.
