Beit Mani (Mani House) in Tel Aviv is located in the heart of the big city, like an enchanted and nostalgic fairy-tale house that is surrounded by skyscrapers. And this wonderful building, with its architecture that is no longer commonly seen around here, serves as an art gallery. Beit Mani, which was one of the first houses of the neighborhood of Ahuzat Bayit (meaning homestead), was built in 1910. In 1930 the Honorable Judge Isaac Malkiel Mani moved to live in it and gave it its current name.
Beit Mani has two floors, decorated ceilings and painted floor tiles and it is built out of limestone, as was the custom in Jaffa of those days. Following external and internal renovation and preservation works, Beit Mani received a new look in 2003. Today it also serves as a visitor center for its new owners- Bank Leumi. And thus you can also find here an exhibition of items from the world of banking – from old calculators to the uniforms of past bank clerks – next to other changing exhibitions. One can visit Beit Mani independently.
Arrival at Beit Mani: 36 Yehuda HaLevi Street, Tel Aviv.
