One of the bigger and most important memorial sites in the south of the country is located in a short distance from the Gaza Strip. Here, in the heart of nature, west of Mefalsim and Nir Am Kibbutzim, is the memorial site for the paratroopers’ battle tradition of the time of the retaliation raids (1954-1955). At one of the edges of the complex there is a table in the shape of an arrow and on it is etched the story of the famous operation of "Black Arrow”. Here, also, is the most impressive observation point over Gaza. In addition, this site features rocks, which were chiseled by an artist, each of which is etched with the details of a different operation. There are also tables here on which are written the names of those who have fallen in those retaliation raids. Due to the closeness to the Gaza Strip, one should find out what the security situation is in the area before coming for a visit. Access through road number 232.
