If you like beer, or are looking for an especially refreshing experience, go to the "Israel Beer Breweries" (Carlsberg Israel) Visitor Center. During the visit at the Carlsberg Israel's brewery, one tours various areas and learns about the beer production and bottle filling processes, all computerized of course. The most exciting stop for beer drinkers is the beer history museum, where you can not only have many tastings of the Carlsberg, Tuborg and Guinness beers (for 18 year olds and up) but also enjoy a fascinating display by the Israel Antiquities Authority, which tells about the process of beer brewing in Israel and the Ancient Near East countries already in the 3rd century BCE. Tours must be booked in advance. The Carlsberg Visitor Center is located on 5 Bar-Lev Avenue in Ashkelon's southern industrial zone.
The Carlsberg Visitor Center is open for groups only on Sunday – Thursday between 8 am – 3:30 pm. Families (with children of 10 years old and older) can visit the Carlsberg Visitor Center on Sukkoth and during July – August only. One needs to pay for entrance and book a visit in advance.
