The Taninim Stream (Crocodiles Stream) combines nature and history- an abundance of clear water, stream flora, numerous species of animals and impressive archeological finds. At the Taninim Stream Nature Reserve, one can see the remains of an impressive dam- the biggest enterprise of its kind, built at the end of the Roman period and the beginning of the Byzantine period. From here, water was conducted to Caesarea by means of the Low Aqueduct. The created lake also made it possible to make use of several ancient water-operated flour mills, seven of them were built along the west bank of the Taninim Stream.
