In the mid 19th century rose in Germany a group of Christians that called itself the Templers. They claimed that only living in the Holy Land will bring Salvation. Thus, the Templers came to the Land of Israel and built in it several colonies. One of these colonies was built in Bethlehem of Galilee in 1906 and it maintains to date its pastoral character and a distinct European atmosphere. In order to experience the Templers experience fully, it is recommended to go on a journey in time with the cordial assistance of Kobi Fleischman, a local tour guide and a colorful character on his own. At his Templers house Fleischman has opened a lovely Visitors Center that tells the fascinating story of this controversial sect. Furniture, work tools, pictures, paintings, flags and Fleischman’s special stories create an interesting picture which describes the world of the Templers. Those who want to go deeper can book a tour among the colony’s houses. The Visitors Center is located at the Fleischman residence in Bethlehem of Galilee.
