The Mekorot Eshkol Visitor Center of "Mekorot", Israel’s national water company, is one of the company’s several visitor centers, and it too, of course, deals with the world of water. This visitor center, located at the Eshkol site in the Beit Netofa Valley, is considered to be innovative and the visit here is fascinating and filled with surprises and thorough explanations on the subject of the long way which the water goes through from the Sea of Galilee and until it reaches the tap at our homes. There is also a water purification plant here, which is considered to be one of the largest of its kind in the world (the Eshkol site is actually a huge filtration plant for the water of the Sea of Galilee). The visit at the Mekorot Eshkol Visitor Center includes films, animations, special models and maps, as well as an interesting role play which incorporates a simulation of the process of water supplying, with touch screens, communication devices and more. Toward the end of the tour, you will go out to look at the large water reservoirs of the Eshkol site. The tour at the Mekorot Eshkol Visitor Center lasts about an hour and a half and is suitable for the age of ten and up. The tour is aimed at groups but on holidays and vacations it is available to families as well.
