Contrary to what one might think, the Monkey Forest in Yodfat is not a zoo in the full sense of the word. It is true that one can conveniently and pleasantly watch the different species of monkeys which inhabit the Yodfat Monkey Forest, but still, the purpose of this place is to serve as a habitat for these monkeys and the other animals that live in it and to take care of their well-being. The Yodfat Monkey Forest simulates as much as possible a natural habitat and as such creates a smart combination between the well-being of the animals and Man’s curiosity. Among other animals, live here in this special place macaque monkeys and squirrel monkeys, as well as ibexes, deer, alpacas, various water birds, goats, parrots and other animals which walk around freely within this area which spreads over about 30 dunams. You can also find here pleasant areas for resting and a picnic, as well as petting corners for farm animals.
