The "Nesher” Visitor Center in Ramla offers much more than a visit to a company which manufactures cement. "Nesher Israel Cement Enterprises” has been manufacturing cement since the 1920s and this factory was founded in 1953 – which means that a tour here is also a tour through the history of Israeli construction. The "Nesher” Visitor Center was founded in 1997 and it presents various aspects of the company’s production of cement through photographs, installation, an animated film and guided explanations. Among the subjects touched upon here are: the history of cement, the different technologies and the connection between "Nesher Israel Cement Enterprises” and the history of the State of Israel. A part of the visit takes place inside a long tunnel which simulates a production furnace (only not as hot…), a tour along a materials conveyor, production halls, cement mills, the real furnaces (the heat in which reaches 1,600 degrees Celsius), the packaging house and more. During the tour you will also learn about the connection between the factory’s activity and the environment. Entrance from the age of 6 and up.
The "Nesher” factory is located near the Ramla industrial area, south of the city’s center.
