Traditions have great power, and thus, about 2,000 years after Jesus sat in a cave with his disciples and taught them the Lord's Prayer which start with the words "Our Father”, one can visit the church which was built on top of that cave - the Church of the Pater Noster (Our Father) on the Mount of Olives. The church, which was built by the French in the mid 19th century, stands on top of the remains of an ancient Byzantine church and the words "Our Father” are perpetuated on its walls in no less than 143 different languages. In addition, you can see here old ceramic tiles which were decorated by hand.
Arrival at the Church of the Pater Noster: the southern end of the Raba’a El Adawiyah Street in Jerusalem, on the Mount of Olives.
