Hatira Stream, which is located in the northern area of the Negev Mountain, begins in HaMakhtesh HaGadol (The Big Crater), also called Makhtesh Hatira (the Hatira Crater). Hatira Stream passes in the Big Crater toward north-east and on its way reveals ancient geological wonders, such as prehistoric fossils. A few hundreds of meters after it leaves the Big Crater, Hatira Stream arrives at one of the most beautiful spots in the area: Ein Yorkeam- an obligatory stop for many travelers who come here to watch water in the heart of the desert, surrounded by white rocks. Further on its way the Hatira Stream comes down in an impressive waterfall and then delves into a beautiful canyon, the walls of which reach the height of hundreds of meters and its bottom is filled with sands of different shades. The canyon itself stretches over more than four kilometers. This excellent "tour package” brings many travelers to the area, who come here either on foot or by bicycle.
