Beit Hecht (Hecht House), also called Beit Rothschild (Rothschild House), located at the center of the Carmel in Haifa, is a two floors structure with a tile roof that gives a very nostalgic feeling. The Hecht House was built by a Templers Family in 1883 and served as a hotel. After a few reincarnations, the Hecht House was purchased by the Rothschild foundation and later on was transferred to the hands of the Haifa Municipality. The Hecht House became an important cultural center and went under major renovation. Today the Hecht House is active in many areas that are related to culture and entertainment: creation and art, workshops and courses, stage related arts and theater, dance and music school, body culture, and it also serves for social meetings. At the basement of the Hecht House there is a students’ culture club. The Hecht House is located on 142 HaNasi Avenue.
