The German Colony, situated at the foot of the Baha’i Gardens, was built by the Templers- the members of the German Protestant sect of the Temple Society- in the year of 1868 and was renovated during the 1990s as a part of the Baha’i World Center Gardens construction project. The houses of the German Colony, which were partially renovated, serve today as an entertainment and tourism area, which takes the visitors to this place back in time with the help of the beautiful colony’s houses and their red roofs. The German Colony is a vibrant and colorful entertainment center and it offers a guided tour between the colony’s houses, which is given by actors who also reenact the fascinating reality of its past. The main street of the German Colony also offers a variety of cafés, restaurants and pubs, which change the German Colony’s appearance at night and turn it into a lively and pastoral experience.
