The Zikim Sand Dunes Nature Reserve
Many of those who arrive at the secluded and beautiful Zikim Beach do not bother to visit the magical and untouched Zikim Sand Dunes Nature Reserve which stretches to its east.
The Sanhedrin Park in Yavne
The Sanhedrin Park in Yavne, situated in the Lowland area, is first and foremost the place in which according to Jewish tradition is buried Rabbi Gamaliel, the president of the Sanhedrin.
Dvira Forest
There is something a little surreal in a forest that touches on the desert: on the one hand abundance of green liveliness and on the other the yellow desert dryness.
Ashkeluna Water Park
Right next to the charming Delilah Beach in Ashkelon is found the Ashkeluna Water Park which spreads over about 10 acre.
American Independence Park
In the south-western area of the Judean Mountains is the vast American Independence Park: 30,000 dunams of planted forests and natural groves.
The Stalactites Cave (Me’arat HaNetifim)
The Stalactites Cave (Me’arat HaNetifim), also known as the Soreq Cave, is a beautiful carstic cave that is situated on the western slopes of the Judean Mountains, near the city of Bet Shemesh.
The Lakhish Park
On the southern bank of the Lakhish Stream, where it passes in the area of the city of Ashdod, a charming Urban park was established, which, on the one side maintains in a way the landscape which ruled the stream in its past- from sand dunes to ancient sycamore trees, and on the other provides the public with quiet corners and options for some activity.
Luzit caves
Due to their special shape, caves of this type got the name of “bell caves”, and they are quite common in the Judean lowland region.
Massuah Forest
It seems that Britannia Park, with its diverse views and numerous trails, need almost no introduction.
The Ayalon-Canada Park
This is one of the more popular nature reserves in the country, located between the plain and the mountains, between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
Mount Tnufa Lookout
Mount Tnufa Lookout is also known as Ofer Schwartz Lookout, named after an Israeli Air Force officer who died in a training accident in the Judean Desert in 1996.
Britannia Park
Britannia Park of the Judean lowland is not as busy as its neighbor, the Ayalon–Canada Park, but it is just as fascinating.
The “Ad Halom” Trails
The “Ad Halom” Trails in the southern part of the Coastal Plain (and actually an integral part of Ashdod) is a fairly new set of trails that was created for the benefit of pedestrians and bicycle riders that come to the “Ad Halom” Park.

Here, at the South-East edge of Ashdod, it is very much recommended to takes one’s shoes off.
Tel Tatspit (Observation Point Mound) National Park
Lovers of antiquities, view and everything in between are invited to visit Tel Tatspit (Observation Point Mound), which was declared a National Park a few years ago, and spreads over almost 3,000 dunams.
Ashkelon National Park
In addition to well-kept lawns, charming shaded corners and a beautiful beach, Ashkelon National Park offers a journey in time into the past of one of the most ancient cities in the world.
The Ness Ziona Hills
When you arrive here, especially during the winter and spring, you understand why so many ask for making this small region a National Park (the process is under way).
The Gvar'am Nature Reserve
On the Southern Coastal Plane, between Yad Mordechai Junction and the kibbutz of Or HaNer, on a limestone ridge about 100 meters high above sea level, is this nature reserve, which is nice during most of the year, but especially lovely during the winter and spring.
The Tzor’ah Forest
The Tzor’ah Forest spreads over the hills in the higher part of the Judean lowland and it includes a unique combination of natural flora, archeological sites, sculptures and magnificent observation points.
Ben Shemen Forest
The “green lung" of the central area of Israel is the vast Ben Shemen Forest.
Nitsanim Dunes Nature Reserve
Thousands of dunams of soft sand dunes await those who come to this Nature Reserve, which was declared a few years ago but most of it is still under the army’s control.
Me'arat HaTeomim (The Twins Cave)
Me'arat HaTeomim (The Twins Cave) is one of the most beautiful of its kind and the deeper one goes in it the more surprised one gets at its size (a flashlight is a must in order to see one’s way as well as for watching the hordes of bats which live on the cave’s walls or fly above your heads).
Ya'ar HaMal’achim (The Angels’ Forest)
Ya'ar HaMal’achim (The Angels’ Forest), the official name of which is Ya'ar HaMal’achim–Shaharia, located in the Lowland area of Israel, a few kilometers from the entrance to the city of Kiryat Gat , spreads over about 7,000 dunams.
Ya’ar HaMeginim (The Defenders' Forest)
Ya’ar HaMeginim (The Defenders' Forest) in the Lowland area spreads over about 3,500 dunams and it includes quite a few pastoral hills and many pine, cypress, olive, carob and other trees.
Hulda Reservoir
Hulda Reservoir is located near kibbutz Hulda, in the Judean Lowland, and attracts many water birds, including an impressive concentration of various duck species.
The Adullam Grove Nature Reserve
In certain places and certain times, this region gives the delicate fragrance of Tuscany.
The Adoraim Dam
The Adoraim Dam, which is located in the Lowland area, does its job only in the winter (and in fact, only in fairly rainy winters).
The Hulda Forest
In 1909, a farm for the planting of olive trees was founded here, in an area which is to the south-east of the city of Rehovot, and at its center is a wonderful house named the “Herzl House”.
Hurbat Sokho (Sokho Ruins)
Besides offering an easy, not long and beautiful trail, Hurbat Sokho, which is in the Valley of Elah, is famous for its Blue Lupine blossom.
The Haruvit Forest
The Haruvit Forest which is in the Judean lowland, not far away from Kfar Menahem and near Re'em Junction, is one of the most intimate forests in the area- due to its modest size, beautiful trails and the hidden corners which it offers its visitors.
Ya’ar HaNasi (the President’s Forest)
Ya’ar HaNasi (the President’s Forest), which is in the Lowland, also known as the Tzora Forest, is the place to come to not only with picnic equipment but also with a Bible.
